Kerianne Lawson Rubenstein

Hello! Welcome to my website.

I am an Assistant Professor of Sport Analytics at Syracuse University.

I am a sports economist who applies ideas from law and economics to understand how rules and institutional structures shape player behavior and market outcomes in sport. I also study labor markets in sport, focusing on topics such as network effects, income effects, and substitution effects.

About Me

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and Auburn, Alabama. I received a BS in Economics from Southern Methodist University, and a PhD in Economics from West Virginia University.

I currently live in Syracuse, New York with my husband, our son, and our dog. We frequent local breweries and spend as much time outside as possible. I’m an avid sports fan: Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Storm, and Milwaukee Bucks (in that order). In my free time I like to cook, restore antique furniture, and watch reality TV.
